Macbook Pro 15" only charges when off or put on sleep mode.?

My MacBook Pro is around 4-5 months old, a few days ago I've spilt soda on the table and I guess it has reached the laptop, just to let you know, the battery is not removable, I've plugged the charger in the laptop and when I turn it on, the light switches to Green and next to the battery icon it says (Not Charging) but when I put it to sleep it turns orange and it charges. What should I do? =/
